The listing of Lyons as a World Heritage for Humanity Site signifies the recognition of its dual significance: the classified site covers an area of 500 hectares where the entire history of the city of Lyon has unfolded uninterrupted since the foundation of Lugdunum. And this area has remained inhabited, lively and animated throughout this period.
